Sofitel area


The Sofitel area of Hurghada encompasses 'Mercure Hotel' previously known as 'Sofitel Hotel', hence the name 'Sofitel'.

The Sofitel area is located on Safaga Road on the beach side facing the glorious Red Sea.  It is a mere 10 minutes away from the airport, making it extremely popular with tourists. 

Sofitel enjoys an out of town location, being located 14km from downtown Hurghada, on the south side. It is however, only 15 minutes by taxi or local bus.  

A few minutes further down Safaga Road, you will find an enormous choice of high quality hotels, including 'Pick Albatross Hotels, Titanic Resort & Aqua Park, Sonesta Pharaoh Beach Resort, etc.

It is also 10 minutes drive along Safaga Road to the famous 'Senzo Mall' which boasts to be the largest indoor shopping centre in the Red Sea.  Senzo Mall hosts a cinema, a children's indoor play area, a food hypermarket - Spinneys, restuarants, fast food outlets and many designer shops, including Addidas, Reebok and Radioshack.

In the opposite direction, towards downtown Hurghada, you can find 'the Golden Mile'.  This is approximately 6-7 minutes by taxi and is a pedestrianized zone where you can enjoy a relaxing walk in the evening.  Due to the width of the pedestrianized area, it is easy to enjoy a quiet moment with your friends and loved ones, even though 'the Golden Mile' is full of 5* hotels, international restuarants, souvenir shops, duty free shops, nightclubs, etc. 

Sofitel area at the moment is one of the few areas, which hasn't been heavily developed, even though the immediate surrounding areas have.  It is extremely near the developing village of Magawish, which is extremely popular with British and German long term residents.  At present there are few shopping facilities in Sofitel/Magawish area. 

Land in Sofitel area could be utilised for any number of investment projects, be they aimed at tourist or residential business.
