Sahl Hasheesh

Sahl Hasheesh
Sahl Hasheesh, Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt

The spa town of Sahl Hashish (Sahl Hasheesh) is located to the south of Hurghada, 20 km from the International airport. The proximity to all European capitals, year-round warm climate and the constant development of tourism in  Egypt provides uninterrupted, dynamic growth in property prices, especially in the Red Sea.

The district stretches along the pristine shores of the Gulf Sahl Hashish, with wonderful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.  Two monumental columns in the style of the 'Hall of Karnak Temple in Luxor', act as the entrance to the territory of Sahl Hashish.  They immerse us in a pharonic atmosphere.  A long avenue, bordered by greenery and 10,000 palm trees, leads you to the Piazza-Belvedere Palace with a spacious open area and an unforgettable view of the sea.

The heart of the city 'Sahl Hashish' is the so called 'Old Town' with its promenade stretching along the coast and a string of hotels.  Each hotel carries its own individual architectural style.

It is believed that in ancient times, that on this coast, there was a city called Isis.  It was named after the Egyptian goddess, who was the mother of all life on Earth and patron of magic.

Due to its location, the city was the largest trading port and prospered for over 2000 years, until it was flooded. A millennium later, the idea to recreate the mysterious city, hidden beneath the watery depths, was first thought of by the original designers of Sahl Hashish.

The purpose of Sahl Hashish, is to be completely unlike any othe resorts in the region. One of the main attractions, which cannot be found anywhere else in the Middle East or Africa, is that it is the reconstruction of a sunken city.

The architects of Sahl Hashish had an idea to create an analogy of Venice. A great oasis between the sea and the desert. It has been dubbed as the Egyptian Riviera.

The
draft city designed by a famous architect - Norman Foster, includes conservation of the natural landscape. Only 14% of the city is set aside as land. The rest of the area will be used for exotic gardens, man-made canals, lagoons and golf courses.

Analysts say that Sahl Hashish can greatly exceed El-Gouna, Sharm El-Sheikh and even many European tourist centres!  This is all thanks to a harmonious combination of an exclusive style of architecture, natural landscape and the enormous scope of the project.
