El Gouna
It is commonly referred to as El Gouna and El Qouna. The area was constructed approximately 20 years ago.
In this district you will find the composition of residents as follows; Egyptians 32%, English 34%, and the remaining 34% are American, German, Italian and Russian.
The level of wealth and purchasing power of the residents is high.
The city and the sea are inseparable. Everywhere you walk you can see the sea, nestling besides beautiful villas and apartments.
El Gouna is a private city and has its own local goverment.
It has an International Medical Centre that is equipped with modern medical technology and equipment. It is one of the best in Egypt.
To a greater extent, property available tends to be on the secondary market.
Business in the city is connected with the sea, tourism, entertainment, trade, property, service boats, etc.
It has its own airport. There are also two distilleries, producing beer and spirits.
Leisure time can be spent enjoying the various exhibitions and concerts. Diving, surfing, kiting, private boats and sea fising are also readily available.
El Gouna has its own electricity supply, as well as high-speed internet, to serve the needs of the local residents.
Here you can find countless shops including boutiques, souvenir shops and sports shops. There are also artists selling their works of art here from around the world.
El Gouna has an international school which enjoys great popularity, not only among expatriates but among wealthy Egyptians.
El Gouna has already managed to win the love of people from around the world.
The whole town is covered with a network of artificial canals, which were recently dug. Many people have likened El Gouna to Venice, and is it is dubbed as 'Venice of Egypt'. Here you can find beautiful villas, cozy little cottages and luxury hotels, built along the canals and the stunning Red Sea.
Sports facilities in El Gouna include; several golf courses, tennis courts, basketball, football, volleyball, and paintball.
The favourite place for local residents and visitors is Abu Tig Marina. There are magnificent private yachts here from around the world, many restaurants with live music, a beach and boutique shops.
The city has a so-called old town Down Town which is a replica of a typical Nubian village.
