Egypt and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding on remote sensing and space sciences co-operation.
Head of the Egyptian National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences - Dr Ayman al-Desouki and Nabil ben Amin of the Saudi Authority for Specifications and Quality signed the agreement.
"The agreement is aimed at promoting joint action in the domain of Space Sciences and Remote Sensing Research", said Desouki in statements at the signing ceremony. "It is also aimed at exchanging expertise and information on this score", he added.
It is worth mentioning that the latest report issued by the World Bank mentioned that Egypt's economy ranks 42nd amongst 192 countries at world level.
The report said that Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2009 amounted to 188.3 billion dollars, making Egypt rank third among Arab countries, after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Egyptian Cabinet spokesman - Magdi Radi said that "Wednesday’s cabinet meeting tackled the latest international reports on Egypt's economy". (SIS)
