Location: Red Sea reefs - day / night - single - carnivores - snorkeling / scuba diving - 5 / 200 m depth

Rock cod are widely distributed in tropical seas at depths ranging from several meters to 200 meters and have great commercial value. Teeth of most of the species are large and sharp, mainly they are eating fish and crustaceans. These fish  undergoing sexual transformation, but among them there are so-called “simultaneous hermaphrodites”, which are during them life several times can be a male, then female. Among the perch are very old specimens weighing up to several tens of kilograms. Rock cod - predators, they are very territorial, located on the top of the food pyramid, and their destruction may lead to imbalance in the entire ecosystem of the reef.
