Location: Red Sea reefs - Day / Night - carnivores - snorkeling / scuba diving - 2 / 40 m depth

Haemulidae - its name, these fish were called due to the sounds made by them in the teethgrinding and amplified by the fish itself with air bladder. These fish are mostly active at night, when they hunt for invertebrates at the seabed. In the day time large flocks of croaker slowly floating near the stony coral clusters. As they grow older these fish radically change their color, but they do not change sex.
