Egypt Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Nasrelddin Allam met with Mohamed bin Ali Al-Hodar, the official in charge of water and electricity in Bahrain.
Al-Hodar is currently on a two-day visit to Cairo at the head of a delegation of water experts. They discussed cooperation between the two countries in the water desalination domains and means to rationalize water consumption, as well as means of benefiting from torrential rain waters and storing them.
The two sides agreed to hold training courses in Egypt and Bahrain on water management.
Minister Allam said his ministry intends to send an Egyptian delegation in the near future to Bahrain to get acquainted with the Kingdom's expertise in the field of water desalination and subterranean waters.
Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development Ahmed el-Maghrabi said that the new urban communities authority has a 6 billion pound plan for investment projects in the current fiscal year.
In statements Tuesday, Maghrabi said under the plan developmental and service projects will be carried out to serve residents of new cities.
