Egypt establishing modern zone for spinning and weaving industries

Egypt (Cairo) - Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Eng. Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed decided to establish a most up-to-date industrial zone in Kafr El Dawar for integrated spinning and weaving modern industries, as the region is enjoying great advantages concerning this industry and skilled, well trained labor in the field are there in addition that this area is near the Delta, Alexandria harbors and is situated at local and international cross roads.
Eng. Rasheed said the industrial zone will occupy 600 square meters, 430 square meters of which will be devoted to industrial activities, 170 square meters will be kept for storing purposes and training centers.
At first we allocated LE 500 million only for this industrial zone but we spent up till no LE 655 million as it was established on 212,281 square meters representing 50 percent of the first stage, Rasheed noted.
45 plants are being established. Six plants already began to give production. 23 plants will give production during the coming couple of years. 12 industrial projects will create 15,000 job opportunities.
The government spent LE 250 million on the infrastructure represented in roads building, water stations, sanitary drainage, electricity and tapping gas.
