Egyptian Stock Exchange President Khaled Seyam announced that authorities are planning to shorten the trading period when the stock market reopens Monday.
In statements to the press, Seyam said the General Authority for Financial Control has approved a shortened three-hour trading period, reduced from four hours because of the state-imposed curfew.
Seyam added that some exceptional measures will be adopted to support the resumption of work next week.
He also said the administration of the stock market has met with officials from the General Authority for Financial Control, investors associations, representatives from brokerage companies and companies registered on the stock market to look at ways to support the market.
Among the proposals discussed is stopping stock trading upon the resumption of work on Monday.
