Egypt: One million low-cost housing units to be built

Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development Mohamed Fathi El-Baradei held a meeting with experts to outline a housing and urban development strategy during the coming stage.

The meeting took up means of establishing one million low-cost housing units within five years. The program includes offering housing units for the low-income categories in Egyptian cities as a top priority to eradicate slums which spread in some of Egyptian districts.

On other meeting, Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Samiha Fawzi confirmed that raising production of public enterprises which are represented in holding companies is an issue of high priority.

She added that outlining new policies for operation mechanisms of the holding companies boosts the concept of expansion through developing the management system.
