In press statements, Younis added that study on sites marked for the first Egyptian nuclear station, including al-Dabaa site, has been completed.

The remarks made on the sidelines of inaugurating power projects in the city of Al-Arish . The total electricity budget for the FY 2010/2011 hit EGP 16 billion, he added, noting that electricity has been supplied to around 99 percent of Egypt 's population.

Meantime, Younis said a giant electricity station will be established to link North and South Sinai to the unified grid at aggregate costs of LE 275 million. The Minister said electricity projects investments exceeded LE 6 million, adding these investments will be used for establishing generation plants in Arish, Oyoun Moussa, and Sharm El-Sheikh to provide electricity needed for development projects and future needs.
