Marlin
- the common name of sea fish belonging to the family of billfish, Istiophoridae. Have a body of elongated shape (rare specimens reach 4 meters in length), lanceolate snout and a long rigid dorsal fin. It is known that the marlin can swim very fast, reaching speeds of about 85 km / h.

The major representatives of the family are the Atlantic blue marlin, Makaira nigricans, - there are individuals more than 4 meters in length and weighing over 600 kilograms - and black marlin, Makaira indica, - there are individuals of more than 5 meters in length and 670 kg weight. They often become the object of sport fishing.

Dish of the marlin is a rare delicacy, served in top restaurants: the majority of anglers today released marlin caught.

Record marlin are delivered to the bank and weighed.
