Egypt's president candidate Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh said he and other candidates will announce the results of their previous meetings. It is better for the Muslim brotherhood (MB) to stay away from the partisan and political activities, he said.
Aboul Fotouh said there is only one commitment by all potential candidates to keep their meetings secret He considered the Emergency law against freedom and investments, since its period of application ended two days ago, according to the constitutional announcement.
Although he was a member of the MB for more than 23 years, he is against any Islamic or religious Movement involved in political or partisan work.
About Egypt s role in the Middle East problem and the Camp David peace treaty with Israel, Aboul Fotouh said his aim as a potential candidate is to bring Egypt to become a stronger state.
He added Egypt s relations with Israel needs to be reconsidered according to Egypt s interest, by informing citizens about all related issues. He said the citizens suffer from the absence of transparency about political situations and the transitional period in Egypt, because they don t know when exactly situations will settle down.
He commented on the issue of imposing the veil, which was announced by an Egyptian potential candidate and Islamic preacher, Hazim Salah Abu Ismail, and said those statements are irrational because forcing people to follow religious values means people will become hypocrites.
